WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Proficient at read and understanding product drawings and specifications. Measure, and record dimensions.
- Proficient at Utilizing various inspection equipment and gages to determine product or tooling conformance such as thread plug gages, thread ring gages, pin gages, plain ring gages, micrometers (various types), indicators, calipers, Rockwell hardness testers, tri-rolls, optical comparators, plating thickness testers, embrittlement, and solder test equipment.
- Material Handling: Move product to various locations throughout the plant utilizing an electric power jacks or hand pallet jacks.
- Operates elevator to assist in movement of product. Pickup/drop-off of product test samples.
- Visually inspects sample parts, usually under a magnifying glass, from each container and identifies any nonconforming parts in the lot.
- Utilizes various inspection equipment for testing such as plating thickness tester, Rockwell hardness tester, embrittlement tester and solder ability testing.
- Uses lean principles to suggest improvements to processes and methods
- Participates in team meetings and works well with team members.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals related to quality, cost and delivery.
- Works with minimal supervision to independently perform the job of Inspector A in its entirety as assigned.
- Communicates job status, and relevant information to coworkers while performing inspection operations on the shop floor.
- Completes assigned tasks, functions and special projects in a timely manner.
- Utilizes production report to prioritize workload.
- Read and understand written work instructions.
- Set up and operate roller separator and belt sorter equipment.
- Conducts 100% visual inspection of lots as needed.
- Completes router, inspection reports and Non-Conformance Report, as needed.
- Logs on and off labor collection system properly.
- Keeps work area organized and clean at all times.
- Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
- Performs all other duties as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good communication and basic math skills.
- Familiarity and experience with various gages and measuring equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to twelve 8-10 hours).
- Visual acuity.
- Clear communication skills.
