Description
The Patient Access Registrar's role is to greet patients with a pleasant and professional
approach. Obtains and enters demographic information into the Meditech system. Uses
the appropriate protocol in having the patient sign the medical consents, advance directive
and Medicare rights. Obtains and verifies insurance information by using internet based
websites. Scans pertinent documents into the patient chart, Le., insurance cards, photo
identification, advance directives, Medicare rights, consents, etc. Assists in collection of
copayments that are due from patient visits in the Emergency Department, Same Day
Surgery, Admissions and Observation.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Over three months up to and including twelve months experience.
