Description
To operate stationary and portable radiographic equipment image designated portions of
the body as requested by physicians and to assist radiologists during special studies.
1 Proper position of patient by accepted department al standards and proper adjustment of x-ray equipment to correct settings to include proper voltage, amperage and correct
exposure time for radiographs.
2. Selection of proper film, positioning of x-ray equipment, arrangement, attachment or
adjustment of immobilization and supportive devices to obtain the proper position and
radiograph of the patient's body part.
3. Selection and administration of proper contrast agents and drugs when required.
4. Obtains clinical history by way of patient interview and/or review of patient's chart.
Obtains consent forms when required. Educates and instructs patients pertaining to
radiographic, CT special procedures examinations.
5. Assists physicians in radiographic, fluoroscopic and imaging procedures.
6. Practices proper radiation safety techniques on the patient and self per accepted
standards.
7. Developing, duplicating and subtracting of x-ray film.
8. Prepares and maintains records and files.
9. Cleans and maintains equipment pertaining to the Radiology Department.
10. Must maintain continuing education credits as required by ARRT.
11. Must have ARRT renewed within 3 months of expiration date.
Qualifications
Registered or registry eligible with ARRT.
If registry eligible, must be ARRT within one year from date of hire.
