SUMMARY
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, snacks, and other food to children in a courteous, customer-service-oriented manner from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
JOB QUALIFICATION
A High School diploma with post-secondary coursework in food service, management, and nutrition is required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Practice personal hygiene and proper sanitation procedures.
Turn on, test and monitor equipment at the beginning of the day.
Food preparation according to written and oral instructions.
Serve breakfast, lunch, snacks and other meals as necessary.
Handle any necessary cashiering responsibilities associated with selling lunches to PHCSE staff and serving of food items.
Replenish food and maintain clean serving areas.
Monitor food and equipment temperatures at all times.
Exhibit courtesy and understanding to staff, students and customers.
Perform dishwashing duties of cooking, serving and eating utensils tools.
Setup and breakdown of serving areas.
Rinse dishes, wash tables.
Ensure the point of sale procedures are followed.
Receive, stock and rotate incoming and outgoing inventory.
Participate in formal and informal training.
Demonstrate knowledge of sanitation practices.
Exhibit the professional behavior of a reliable employee.
Perform preparation duties for the next day.
Maintain a neat, clean and safe work environment.
Participate in marketing promotions and special events for students, adults and community.
Work according to a time schedule.

Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance and temperature for the purpose of presenting items that will be accepted by students

WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, Significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 25% walking, and 70% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move throughout the building, sit, and navigate stairs in order to access classrooms and meeting areas throughout the school. Frequently reaches with hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to talk and hear. Mental acuity required. Primarily assigned to a kitchen environment that is climate and noise controlled with adequate lighting, using industrial food preparation machinery.
