Key Responsibilities:
Food Handling:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food items to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
- Ensure all food is prepared and maintained according to HACCP procedures.
- Date and label all products in your work area to maintain freshness and safety.
- Handle food and equipment properly to ensure infection control and safety.
- Keep your work area clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.
- Clean equipment, tables, and food service areas using appropriate chemicals and procedures.
- Reassemble equipment after cleaning.
- Sanitize all service ware, pots, walls, floors, ceilings, and related areas using power equipment like dishwashers and floor scrubbers.
- Manage services, supplies, and equipment efficiently to ensure economical use.
- Maintain neat and orderly receiving, issuing, and rotation of stock and food supplies.
- Understand and meet the individual needs of patients and customers with a friendly and competent attitude.
- Maintain a pleasant disposition even in challenging situations.
- Accurately manage money when working the registers and be accountable for receipts, merchandise, and Health System property.
- Perform duties in accordance with city and state Health Codes and Joint Commission regulations.
- Follow HACCP guidelines throughout your daily routine.
- Practice personal hygiene according to dress code standards.
- Report potential infection control issues or violations to your supervisor promptly.
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 0-1 years of food service experience (preferred).
