Monday - Friday | 7 AM - 3:30 PM every 4th weekend, 2 holidays / year
General Summary Statement
The candidate will supervise the operations of laboratory Support Services to include Central Receiving, inpatient, outpatient phlebotomy and Pre-Admission Testing Phlebotomy. This is a working position that may require some hands-on work in phlebotomy and specimen processing, but will retain the supervisory role as the primary focus.
Specific areas of responsibility include oversight of:

The candidate should also be a seasoned phlebotomist that has a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Communication skills, both verbal and written are an important skill set as this position will interact with high level staff on a regular basis. A minimum of 1-year experience in a leadership role is desired.
Licensure/Certification
Phlebotomy certification preferred.

General Summary Statement

- Perform Phlebotomy services (inpatient and Pre-Admission Testing)
- Perform all tasks regarding specimen processing according to standard operating
- Recruitment/hiring (in conjunction with laboratory administration and HROD)
- Scheduling/staffing within budgeted parameters
- Assist the Lab Operations Manager with special projects/QA as required
- Administrative duties including payroll, oversight of staff scheduling, maintaining
- Assist with the review, revision and approval of procedures/policies, forms, and as
- Ensure all is staff is trained and assess competency.
- Assist with review of Outpatient surveys and address any unacceptable ratings
- Monitor employee attendance and address any noncompliance. Ensure payroll is
- Ensure department has sufficient supplies

- Accurately processes both blood and non-blood specimens: reviews specimen type for
- Maintain staff levels and schedules in an efficient manner and within budget.
- Complete staff evaluations in a timely manner
- Review and maintain inventory within budget.
- Maintain payroll and ensure proper staff time keeping
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures including staff orientation, training,
- Oversee the phlebotomy training programs with our affiliates.
- Troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action in conjunction with lab administration
- Assist administrative staff in QA projects as needed.
- Demonstrates proficiency with venipuncture and capillary blood. Properly prepares

- Performs specimen receipt on all specimens according to standard operating procedures.
- Operates centrifuges and aliquots specimens as indicated without delay.
