Summary:
- The OB Coordinator supports the Practice Manager and physicians by tracking and monitoring OB patients, charts, and testing in addition to providing patient education.
- Records all new OB patients and monitors changes, distributes lists/reports as requested
- Maintains PPD program
- Pre-certs all OB patients
- Orders medication with third party authorization and maintains log Liaison between practice and Labor and Delivery at the hospital
- Audits OB charts and maintains results flow (blood work, ultrasound, correspondence, etc.)
- Follows-up on any changes from physicians’ OB chart reviews, appropriately communicates results to physicians
- Handle patient prescriptions with the pharmacy with appropriate clinical supervision
- Assists physician with direct patient care when appropriate
- Schedules all associated OB testing and appointments and provide patients with instructions
- Maintains exam rooms and perform NST (Non-stress Test) as directed by provider
- Provides OB patients with diabetic testing supplies and scripts, refers patients to diabetic teaching & nutritional counseling
- Acts as point of contact for non-emergent OB triage, triage patient calls with appropriate clinical supervision
- Writes OB lab slips for patients with appropriate clinical supervision
- MA-AAMA or MA-AMT or MA-NCCT or MA-NHA
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- LPN or RN licensure in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- 3 years' experience in healthcare setting, preferably in Women's Health (Required)
- MA Certification required if not LPN/RN licensed (Required)
- Associate of Arts or Science (Preferred)
