Job Title: Pacemaker Technician
Location: Lancaster, PA
Department:The Heart Group: Pacer Clinic
Part time, 32 hours per week: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, days off will vary based on need
SUMMARY: Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine is currently seeking a Pacemaker Technician. The pacemaker technologist works collaboratively with the physicians and nurse practitioners to diagnose pacemaker and defibrillator (ICD) function and aid in the technical management of these devices.

SUMMARY: Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine is currently seeking a Pacemaker Technician. The pacemaker technologist works collaboratively with the physicians and nurse practitioners to diagnose pacemaker and defibrillator (ICD) function and aid in the technical management of these devices.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Perform complete diagnostic pacemaker and ICD parameter testing which would include, but is not limited to, reprogramming
analysis, and physician’s orders.
- Retrieve, analyze and report on device data posted to the device company websites for remote home monitoring testing.
- Assess the patient’s condition in relation to the pacemaker or ICD therapy programmed.
- Collect and analyze all available data from the pacemaker and ICD in regards to function and stored events/episodes since last device evaluation. Review data as needed with Device Company Technical Services and/or physicians.
- Provide information, follow-up reports and support services to physicians and nurse practitioners.
- Maintain accurate patient and device information in the patient’s medical and electronic health records.
- Detect, identify and verify battery depletion or component malfunction in pacemaker or ICD’s, and recommend the appropriate
- Analyze Loop Recording Monitors (ILR’s) and pacemaker and ICD device function on holter monitor recordings.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE:
- Completion of an established school of cardiovascular technology program and/ or High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- CPR certified required.
- International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) “Examination of Special Competency in Cardiac Pacing for Allied
- ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e.
