Summary:
- The Program Coordinator in the Food and Nutrition Services department will support the Hall Mercer's Market on 8th Street, which is our food pantry program that services patients and community members. The Program Coordinator will partner with other team members to ensure the program needs are met. This role will work collaboratively with other food pantry program team members and our partners in the clinics for which the majority of our patients receive their medical care. Strong organizational skills are required and strong writing skills are preferred. This position is an onsite, temporary role scheduled part-time hours.
- Complete tasks in alignment with program goals, protocols and procedures
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines when stocking shelves and removing expired items.
- Prepare food distribution bags for patient pick-up and assist with client shopping (training and guidelines will be provided)
- Maintain accurate record of food inventory
- Create shopping lists based on inventory needs
- Collect data for Hall Mercer’s Market on 8th Street (including demographics, family size, volume of food, frequency of visits, comorbidities, and educations provided)
- Checkin and schedule patients for visits to the food pantry
- Provide some basic nutrition education and/or referrals to the Diabetes Education Center as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean environment and follow food safety guidelines.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Education Specialization: Public Health/HealthcareAdministration or a related field Equivalent Experience:
- 0-1 years relevant experience preferred
