Job Title: Financial Analyst
Department: Medicine Finance
Location: Perlman Center for Advanced Medicine - 3400 Civic Center Blvd
Hours: Full Time
Summary:
- The Financial Analyst is responsible for processing monthly close journals, financial reporting, and variance explanations for assigned divisions. The Financial Analyst has a great understanding of the operating budgets and division clinical activity. The Financial Analyst mainly communicates with Division Administrators and other finance team members.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of month end closing entries
- Provide analysis and variance explanations for monthly reporting
- Support division administrators in interpreting financial results
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in monthly, quarterly or annual processes
- Manage divisional balance sheets and follow up appropriately as needed
- Ability to Multitask and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with an ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to cover other financial analyst workload in their absence
- Assisting in building supporting schedules for the budget cycle
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- And 2 years experience in a Finance department, with a progressive accounting and budgeting, for a Healthcare System.
- Master of Arts or Science (preferred)
