Job: Dining Ambassador

Hours: Shifts will fall between 10am-8pm

Department: Nutrition Services

Location: Penn Medicine Princeton Health Plainsboro, NJ

Summary:

• The Dining Ambassador will provide the delivery and retrieval of patient's meals
• The Dining Ambassador will provide an exceptional, caring and compassionate experience for patients and their families

Responsibilities:

• Delivers patient trays in a timely and accurate manner in compliance to department tray delivery time standards
• Ensuring that food is delivered promptly while maintaining food quality and temperature
• Working with both food and patients, the dining ambassador will maintain proper hand hygiene. Cleaning and sanitizing meal delivery carts
• Ensures that the proper meals are delivered to the proper patients through following proper protocol for patient identification when delivering food to patients
• Documents and completes tray delivery logs accurately using an iPad
• Retrieves soiled trays from patient room in a timely manner at the end of each meal period
• Collects and returns correct amount of cash change and/or documents correct credit card information for guest tray charges
• Communicates and interacts with Nursing, Dining Coordinator, Nutrition Supervisor and Manager effectively to meet patient needs and provide service recovery promptly
• Side work to include wrapping silverware, assembling and preparing, stocking food and other supplies for patient tray line as necessary
• Follows all departmental policies regarding food safety, infection prevention, employee hygiene, hazardous material and waste disposal processes. Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment

Education or Equivalent Experience:

Required:

• H.S. Diploma/GED

Preferred:

• One-year previous work experience in food service
