In a small medical practice comprising three healthcare providers, three medical assistants (Mas), and one receptionist, the organizational structure is designed to ensure efficient patient care and streamlined administrative operations. To enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction, the practice is seeking to add an additional receptionist.
Summary:
- Assists physicians, residents nurse practitioners and nurses in providing clinic services for patients vital signs, point of care testing, providing assistance to providers with procedures when needed, collecting specimens and documentation of results.
Responsibilities:
- Assists physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses during clinic hours in the delivery of care with obstetric or gynecologic patients
- Gathers basic patient information and performs and documents the blood pressure, height, and weight of patients
- Performs screening tests and immunizations as directed by a physician or nurse
- Provides assistance to providers when performing procedures as needed
- Assists nurses in processing of documents and files including all data entry and clerical duties
- Works effectively and collaboratively with other staff to provide high-level customer service
- Engages in effective communications with all staff to ensure smooth operations, effective problem solving, and enhanced team interactions
- Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department; collaborates with other caregivers/staff, within and outside the Department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and service
- Maintains standards of confidentiality
- Participates in unit compliance as related to established standards
- Accountable for improving patient care through adherence to all patient safety and quality standards, regulations, and best practices.

Credentials:
- MA-AAMA or MA-AMT or MA-NCCT or MA-NHA (Required)
- Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Driver's License (Required)
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Required:
- H.S. Diploma/GED
Preferred:
- A minimum of 2-3 year’s experience in a healthcare setting in a similar position
- Doctors office experience preferred, and electronic medical records
- Experience working in women's health
