Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is seeking a Professional Development Coordinator to join our team. This role is vital in supporting the professional development of our providers and nursing staff through two primary functions: credentialing verification and Learning Management System (LMS) administration.
The Professional Development Coordinator will work closely with physicians, administrators, the Office of Medical Affairs, and State Boards of Nursing/Medicine, ensuring compliance with relevant accreditation and licensing requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Credentialing Verification:
- Support the credentialing and recredentialing process for initial appointments, temporary privileges, reappointments, and other credentialing instances.
- Ensure compliance with UPHS hospital's state licensure, JCAHO accreditation, and managed care plan agreements, impacting UPHS's ability to maintain accreditation and generate revenue.
- Maintain and manage fully executed APP collaborative agreements and ensure they are updated on file.
- Collaborate with physicians, administrators, the Office of Medical Affairs, and State Boards of Nursing/Medicine to complete the credentialing process.
- Prepare for payor audits and support credentialing committee meetings by preparing minutes and necessary documentation.
- Monitor credentialing expiration dates and initiate recredentialing processes as required.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
- Oversee and maintain reports and files related to employee learning transcripts and educational offerings within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Ensure LMS courses are accessible to learners based on their specific needs, and assign curricula accordingly.
- Work closely with the manager to standardize system-wide methodologies and processes for LMS activities.
- Provide support to LMS administrators and assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and reporting.
- Execute LMS and eLearning projects, offering recommendations for best practices and improvements to system processes and guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain provider files, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
- Prepare letters for new providers and manage credentialing status reports.
- Monitor and report any official sanctions impacting assigned providers.
- Support Faculty Affairs Coordinator and department leadership with administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain proficiency in credentialing databases and ensure timely and accurate data entry.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- 3 years of relevant job experience in a healthcare or professional setting preferred.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of credentialing processes, Medical Staff Bylaws, and relevant healthcare standards.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational project administration.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in credentialing databases and administrative systems.
