Overview
Penn Pump & Equipment Company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in steel fabrication, pipefitting, and welding. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
- Conduct tests on assembled systems to verify functionality and identify any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any modifications or issues encountered.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill gun, and grinders, calipers, and weld gauges
- Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
- Maintain inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumables
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
Requirements and Qualifications
- Metal fabrication experience
- Detail oriented and experienced in Stick, TIG & MIG welding
- Experience Brazing and soldering
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout materials
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
- General mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Beneficial Skills and Knowledge
- Commercial Plumbing and HVAC
- Comfortable with commercial voltages up to 480 volt, 3 phase
- Familiarity with control system programming and troubleshooting. Knowledge of PLCs or similar control systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with pipe threading and Victaulic grooving equipment
