SUMMARY OF POSITION :

This position is to provide substance abuse counseling. Participates in the interdisciplinary team to help improve the health and well-being of the patient's with Opioid-Use Disorder and promote team functioning. Interventions will include crisis intervention, brief behavioral interventions, psychosocial assessments, supportive short-term counseling, group psychotherapy, and appropriate internal / external referrals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • A Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. Or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and one (1) year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
  • Act 31 training completion required within 45 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S) :

  • AHA BLS Certification obtained prior to the end of orientation
  • Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training required prior to the end of orientation
  • Bilingual skills preferred
