SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Trauma Social Worker will provide support to Pennsylvania’s only combined Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center. Focus will be on facilitating the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation standards of accreditation with focus on identification and intervention of substance abuse, PTSD, acute stress, child abuse, elder abuse, intimate partner violence, and sex trafficking. The Trauma Social Worker will also provide individuals, families, and groups with the psychosocial support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses. Services include advising family caregivers, providing patients with information and counseling, and make referrals for other services. This position will represent social services at the trauma peer review, and trauma operations meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Master’s Degree required
