SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for assessing , developing, planning, implementing and evaluating psychosocial interventions that support the educational, developmental, emotional and therapeutic needs of pediatric patients and their families. Utilizes a facility dog to provide therapeutic Child Life interventions within the inpatient setting.
The Child Life Specialist - will work every 3rd Friday and every 3rd weekend in the Pediatric ED (11a-11p) and every Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (7:30a-4p) in an outpatient radiology setting on Milton S Hershey Medical Center campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Family Studies, Education, or Psychology required
1 year supervised experience in an established Child Life Program Completion of a 480-hour Child Life internship required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree preferred
Child Life Certification preferred
