A leading manufacturer of custom electric switchgear located in Darby, PA s searching for a full time Designer to work in its Engineering Design department. Salary range : $75K-$95K. The company is a family owned company that specializes in products designed for specific applications for the commercial and industrial markets which results in a very challenging product mix that is constantly changing. Since their Engineering and Manufacturing are in the same location, this position provides the opportunity to create designs and see them develop into finished products. Their facility manufactures electrical distribution products up to 38 KV and 4000 amperes. They also fabricate enclosures from sheet steel, aluminum, and stainless steel; fabricate all copper bus; and assemble and wire using components and PLC's from all the major suppliers in the electrical industry. They also have powder coating and testing facilities. Experience with AutoCAD LT and / or AutoCAD required.
Job Responsibilities :
- Working under the direction of an experienced designer or engineer to produce CAD designs for product approval and production using UL and industry standards
- Approval drawings
- Manufacturing drawings detailing steel structure layouts
- Copper bus layouts
- Control wiring schematics
- Produce manufacturing bills-of-material for production
