Penn United Technologies, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Chemist in our growing Electroplating facility. This person will be an integral member of our busy chemistry lab, with primary responsibilities to sample, analyze and document plating bath chemistry. This position requires the ability to rotate daylight and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze plating bath chemistry for various elements, using various testing and analysis methods
- Monitor the variability of bath parameters & establish & modify control procedures
- Perform daily & weekly bath analyses on nickel, gold, copper, tin/lead and acids and cleaners
- Establish sampling plans for in-house material analysis to maintain statistical control and certifiability of coatings
- Troubleshoot chemical process control problems
- Test for concentrations using titration and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES), run hull cell panels on baths and make chemical and additive additions based upon the results
- Perform daily bath analyses and usage analysis
- Maintain the records needed to confirm sound statistical control of plating chemistries, for current and prospective chemists
- Follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies
- Maintain records including production quantities
- Maintain all analytical equipment in the lab as well as maintain chemical & equipment supplies
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Chemistry or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working with analytical equipment
- Strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Knowledge of electroplating technology preferred
- Must be able to work daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts.
