Quoter – Machined Parts

Penn United is a 700 employee-owned company located just 35 miles north of Pittsburgh.
We are looking for a Quoter of made-to-order Machined Parts work to be placed within our various Pennsylvania machining sites, including Saxonburg, Cabot, and St. Marys, with the fully on-site office located in Saxonburg, PA. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a proven history of work related to quoting setup and run-times for machined parts on multi-axis CNC machine tools and exhibit strong customer service, analytical, mathematical, decision-making, and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Overall: Understand customer specifications to provide timely quotations of price and delivery for machined parts
- Evaluate material and labor costs, determine tooling requirements, and estimate manufacturing lead times
- Build positive relationships with customers and prospects
- Evaluate customer requests to provide accurate and concise quotations
- Enter and maintain quotation data and verify orders
- Discuss quotes, terms, and service needs with customers
- Meet with appropriate sales, engineering, and manufacturing personnel
- Stay current on industry developments, changes, and competitor capabilities
- May assist in the design of quoting systems and procedures
- Perform other duties and assignments, as deemed necessary, to support the Carbide Operations team
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience quoting setup and run-times for machined parts on multi-axis machine tools, based on mechanical drawings and material specifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of setup and operation of multi-axis machine tools in the metals machining industry, including experience with CNC programming
- Ability to read and understand 2D drawings, 3D models, material specifications, GD&T and surface finishes
- Prefer experience with variety of metals, including 300 series stainless steels and nickel alloys
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate or Advanced, preferred)
