Team Leader Mold Making

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Team Leader Mold Making for our Warminster, PA facility.  In this Team Leader role, you would be responsible for working closely with engineering, suppliers, and the manufacturing team to guide the building, development, repair and modifications of metal molds used to produce plastic injection molding parts.

Responsibilities: 
•    Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to determine materials required.
•    Work with mold designers to enhance and simplify the mold build.
•    Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations.
•    Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, mills and CNC Machining Centers to manufacture mold components and verify
      conformance of machined parts to specifications.
•    Recommend equipment changes needed to improve utilization.
•    Smooth and fit mold parts into assemblies and mechanisms.
•    Organize and lead team members through a complete mold build, ensuring timely completion of customer commitments.
•    Promote and follow all safety and quality plans in accordance with company programs and policies.
•    Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process control charts.
•    Examine standard or previously used molds and recommend design modifications.
•    Communicate with outside vendors.
•    Keep current with technical advancements.
•    Train and mentor team members as needed.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications:  

 Required Education and Experience:
     •    Certified Mold Maker or Journeyworker Mold Maker, or credentials from American Injection Molding Institute or American Mold Builders Association
     •    High school diploma or equivalent 
     •    Minimum of 10 years of mold making experience in plastics manufacturing

Desired Education and Experience:
    •    Associate’s Degree in Plastics or Polymer Technology, Injection Mold Design, or related field
    •    Mastercam or Gibbs Cam experience

Knowledge and Skills: 
    •    Knowledge of toolroom equipment (Grinding, Conventional & CNC Machining, Conventional & CNC Sinker EDM, CNC Lathe)
    •    Engineering knowledge with the ability to read and interpret blueprints
    •    Excellent math, mechanical and problem-solving skills
    •    Integrate knowledge of manufacturing processes, company capabilities and customer needs
    •    Ability to lead and direct people
    •    Commitment to team development, product and service excellence
    •    Ability to quickly learn and use required computer software
    •    Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks
    •    Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills 
    •    Must be able to carrying 50 lbs
