What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Installation Tech position at Pennant Solutions Group?
Job Description: Your primary responsibility will be the professional installation and removal of land mobile radios, emergency equipment, and related accessories in public safety vehicles. This includes tasks such as installing camera systems, docking stations, speed measuring devices, and other associated equipment. The person hired will be working with automobile electronics, particularly 12-volt systems.
Candidates must pass a criminal background check, drug test, and maintain a clean driver’s record.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble and reassemble exterior body parts and interior panels of vehicles as necessary for installation.
- Mount and secure components onto vehicles in accordance with specifications.
- Route wires and cables neatly and efficiently within vehicles.
- Splice wires and solder connections to equipment and components as needed.
- Terminate connections on radios, LED lights, sirens, radar components, and other electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and replace electrical components as required.
- Accurately document all completed work on assigned work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Special Requirements:
- Technicians are responsible for providing their own personal hand tools required for the job.
- Must be willing and able to travel periodically and stay overnight when necessary.
- Ability to pass a security clearance check for access to secure locations.
- Must be capable of lifting packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in the following areas may be beneficial:
- Automotive experience
- Car Audio Installation experience
- Military experience with Land Mobile Radio Communications
- Home Security Systems Installation (12-Volt Operation)
