What You Will Do

A critical part of PennEngineering’s overall corporate growth strategy, this role proactively identifies and pursues opportunities to drive aggressive and accretive growth via M&A and strategic initiatives. Working closely with the Executive team, business unit Presidents and other team members, this individual will assist with developing an M&A strategy and pipeline that will deliver transformative and accretive growth in core, adjacent and digital spaces that align with Penn’s global strategy. This individual also oversees the development of key projects, directs the planning and preparation of acquisition or divestiture proposals and makes recommendations to senior management.

Specific Job Responsibilities, Including But Not Limited To

• Identification of potential acquisition or divestiture targets together with business unit Presidents
• Relationship building and management with potential targets
• Evaluation of targets for fit with PennEngineering’s strategic and financial criteria
• Strategy development for integration/post-integration value creation from the acquired business
• Comprehensive financial modeling and returns analysis for review by Penn’s Executive team and Board
• Assist with execution of entire transaction life cycle (e.g. NDA, LOI, DD, SPA)
• Track and report on M&A pipeline metrics and acquisition performance vs. business case
• Manage post-closing integration workstreams and reporting

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Experiential Attributes Desired

• 5 years working experience with a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or similar relevant field
• 3 years of hands-on M&A experience working for a multi-national company, investment bank, consulting firm, VC/PE firm or similar transaction-focused environment
• Detailed, hands-on knowledge of financial modeling, analysis and valuation techniques
• Experience evaluating strategic fit, business quality and other risk factors associated with M&A transactions
• Experience managing the diligence process, incl. commercial, financial, tax, legal, HR and other due diligence
• Knowledge of or interest in the industrial components industry preferred
• Experience developing and executing operational integration plans

• Strong analytical skills
• Executive/Board-level written, oral and presentation communication skills
• Willingness and ability to collaborate with others to accomplish the critical, urgent responsibilities, while maintaining focus and momentum on strategic priorities
• Ability to drive quality results on time and on budget, in a highly ethical and professional manner
• Ability to deliver results when facing frequent assignment changes and periodic heavy workloads
• Ability to creatively apply analytical and strategic capabilities
• Track record of relationship building with senior executive teams, business partners, shareholders and external advisors
• Ability to react quickly to changing business requirements and ‘think on one’s feet’
