Overview

Job Summary: Consider joining our Pennex Extrusion Department as a Driver. As the driver you will be in charge of driving a 26 foot box truck to different facilities for deliveries. No CDL is required for this position. This position is critical to our on time delivery status and making sure our products are delivered with care. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Performs pre-trip inspection and in-route inspections to ensure load is properly secured.  Makes adjustments as required.  Fuels unit as needed.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.  Corrects any defects prior to departure on assigned trip.  Reports maintenance repairs needed to supervisor or Maintenance department.
• Drives truck to destination. 
• Assists workers in loading and unloading truck. 
• Verifies bundle counts and condition of product.  Notifies appropriate staff of any discrepancies or problems and completes appropriate paperwork.
• Obtains customer signature on manifests prior to departure.
• Will be assigned other duties when not driving, to be specified by supervisor or foreman including but not limited to packing, loading, skid-making, etc.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education and/or Experience  

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must possess a valid Driver's License
• Clean driver's background. 

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Ability to write routine reports and maintain driver and maintenance logs.
• Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.

The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
