General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the credit servicing function; coordinating work within the unit or department, as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; adhering to internal policies, procedures, and practices; assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department/unit operations.
Essential Duties
1. Regular attendance is required and will vary by position. For your specific schedule and hours, please discuss with your supervisor or division head. These hours are determined at the beginning of the year by your supervisor and are submitted to HR on the Budgeted Hours report. Based on need, the Bank does reserve the right to adapt at any point.
2. Performs a variety of duties to support the credit servicing function of which the following are illustrative:
a. Inputs loans into the system that are received from the lending officers or digitally.
b. Pulls paid loan files; verifies paid off status and current address of borrower; prepares and files lien satisfactions, prepares check sheet, and returns paid documents to borrower.
c. Reviews and mails rate change letters for adjustable rate mortgages.
d. Verifies and processes a wide variety of credit information, which will become part of the credit file, e.g., insurances, mortgages, titles, forms, etc. Verifies credit information within prescribed policy.
e. Provides information for, and assists in the preparation of, various weekly, monthly, and quarterly loan reports, as directed, e.g., monthly loan insurance report.
f. Reviews loan input and core maintenance for accuracy.
g. Reviews and processes mail.
h. Monitors loans for expiration of insurance policies. Contacts lenders first and if asked by the lender, contacts borrowers and agents to ensure that updated insurance documentation is obtained and maintained for existing loans.
i. For loans with real estate as collateral, coordinates with outsourced insurance monitoring vendor regarding the expiration of flood insurance policies. Completes verification of addresses and other information to ensure that the outsourced vendor has accurate information for their files. Follows up on insurance cancellation notices with agents and borrowers. Force places flood insurance as directed by bank policy/regulations.
j. Completes scanning and indexing of loan files.
k. Files and retrieves loan files as requested.
l. Completes the annual inventory process to ensure that all loan files are accounted for and able to be accessed upon request.
m. Provides backup to other department personnel when required.
n. Sends 30 and 60 day early intervention packets to delinquent borrowers.
o. Will assist with daily balancing duties as assigned.
3. Performs various duties relating to the preparation of mail pickup and delivery.
4. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
5. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
6. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
7. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.
Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent.
Skill(s): Reading, writing, and grammar skills; proficient mathematics skills; computer skills; interpersonal relations and communicative skills; typing skills; report-writing and analytical skills; knowledge and understanding of various types of loans and documents associated with the maintenance of the credit files; ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing 30 lbs. or less.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in related positions normally required.
