General Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting the management of the Retail Banking function in order to ensure efficient and effective operation of all branches; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the office as part of the Retail Banking Division's annual operating plan; ensuring the office's compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; communicating with appropriate management and staff personnel; providing periodic reports.


  

Essential Duties

1. Assists the Director of Retail Delivery to manage the Branch Operations function in order to ensure the efficient and effective operation of all branches as follows:

a. Assists in the coordination and development of maintaining the branch operations. And working directly with operations departments to ensure proper communication of operational issues to front line. 

b. Identifies and implements operational changes which result in improved branch productivity.

c. Responds in a timely manner to all complaints/issues.

d. Identifies training needs and recommends specific training programs.

e. Monitors branch reports such as Tellers’ over and short, cash limits, overdrafts, check systems, large transactions, account opening and closing reports, customer counts, etc.

f. Monitors staffing for branches and reports to the Director of Retail Delivery to ensure appropriate staffing levels in order to ensure effective and efficient operations of branches at all times and optimal service to customers.

g. Periodically reviews fee structures and reports findings to the Director of Retail Delivery to ensure maximum income is generated.

h. Monitors branch expenses, identifies ways to increase efficiencies and reduce expenses.

i. Supports new product implementation, assists with development of procedures and operational training.

2. Works with the Director of Retail Delivery and Regional Branch Managers to develop and implement retail campaign initiatives.

3. Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department as established in the division's annual operating plan; assists in the development of the annual budget for the office and adheres to budget parameters. 

4. Assists in periodically reviewing branch policy and procedures i.e. Account Opening processes, Security Procedures, Branch Cash Procedures, Automated Teller Machines, etc, and implementing changes as necessary. 

5. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

6. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.

7. Communicates with the Director of Retail Delivery, Regional Branch Managers and Branch Executive Officers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

8. Provides periodic reports to the Director of Retail Delivery and other groups as required throughout the Bank.


  

Ancillary Duties

1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances. 

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in Business or a related field of study normally required; specialized banking education and training.

Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services; a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures; moderate PC skills including various software applications and programs; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' related experience normally required.
