Job Description:
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Research Imaging Analyst in Cancer Precision Medicine Laboratory.
The Research Imaging Analyst will acquire, process, analyze, and interpret imaging data to advance scientific research within the Cancer Precision Medicine Laboratory. This role requires expertise in 2D and 3D image analysis and clinical research, along with proficiency in using specialized software to extract both quantitative and qualitative insights.
Major Responsibilities
Perform digital image analysis for preclinical (animal) trial research programs with high quality MRI images
Follow research-driven workflows accurately and consistently to measure images and produce objective image analysis data
Maintain quality standards by providing high quality checks of image analysis procedures
Review objective measurement data for quality and consistency
Assist in the design/implementation/improvement of efficient analysis workflows for a variety of different types of images and datapoints
Support the validation of endpoint measurements
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in environmental science, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, computer science, biophysics, or a related field
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in imaging analysis, particularly in a clinical or research setting focused on oncology or precision medicine
Expertise in 2D and 3D image analysis techniques, including segmentation, registration, and visualization
Experience with advanced imaging modalities
Ability to interpret complex imaging datasets and extract quantitative and qualitative insights
Experience in developing and validating imaging pipelines for clinical and preclinical studies
Knowledge of statistical methods for analyzing imaging data
Strong visual discernment (high precision, attention to detail, ability to recognize semi-obscured patterns)
Ability to work efficiently, maintain meticulous focus for long periods of time, learn new methodologies quickly and reliably transition between them
