What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Specialist position at Pennington County Housing?
PENNINGTON COUNTY HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for all compliance aspects of the properties. Results are achieved by facilitating the optimum performance of the properties in the area of compliance management with all applicable laws and company policies. This position operates within and contributes to an environment in compliance with regulatory entities and Fair Housing laws.
Functions:
1. Responsible for reviewing and approving tenant applications, initial and annual recertifications.
2. Income qualify applicants for initial move-in and prepare move-in documents for Property Managers.
3. Assist in file audits to ensure compliance.
4. Maintain the integrity of compliance, rules, and regulations, while working collaboratively with co-workers.
5. Ensure company policies and procedures are met.
6. Assist property manager with preparing for MORs.
7. Assisting and ensuring that each property is generating and maintaining ALL required reports.
8. Knowledge of TRACS/EIV/MINC/HDS Next Gen
9. Assist/oversee any corrections of resident files, if necessary
10. Assist in gathering any documentation needed for MOR response
11. File resident documents.
12. Maintain neat and organized files, storage, and workspace.
13. Understand how to monitor Rental Assistance/Subsidy availability.
14. Knowledge of occupancy requirements, restrictions and regulations governing the Tax Credit, HOME, HUD Assisted and/or RD Assisted, as applicable.
15. Other responsibilities as assigned/needed.
Knowledge of:
· General office duties, writing letters, answering phones, filing, preparing reports, interpreting policies and procedures, proficiency in office equipment.
· Comprehensive computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), report review and data input
