Survey Crew Chief Job Summary:
Pennoni is seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to lead our Transportation & Land Development projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in field surveying operations and be proficient in the operation of total stations, data collectors, GPS systems, and robotic instruments.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead complex bridge surveying operations by measuring for various factors, including roadway layout, underground utilities, slope & elevation.
- Supervise field surveying operations for boundary, topographic, construction, and engineering land surveying projects.
- Maintain proficiency with modern survey methods, best practices, and technologies.
- Gather field survey data using conventional, robotic, Global Positioning System (GPS), aerial (e.g., drones), and other methods.
- Adjust and operate surveying instruments, including prisms, total stations, GPS/electronic distance-measuring equipment, and auto-levels.
- Prepare field notes and drawings for complex survey calculations.
- Train and instruct survey crew members in surveying and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures.
- Perform quality control checks and computations.
