TITLE: Bus Driver – Needs CDL (incl. School Bus Endorsement)

REPORTS TO AND IS EVALUATED BY: Director of Transportation
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Bargaining unit position, Regular Bus Driver upon completion of training – 10-month work year; FLSA Non-Exempt.
ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediately
LOCATION: District Wide
COMPENSATION: 20 hours pay (less all applicable tax/withholding) at the current Group 1 bus driver hourly rate in accordance with PESPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. To be paid after 90-days of service as a Bus Driver within the district. *
* Employees who receive this compensation are expected to remain in the service of the District for one full school year following receipt of such compensation. If the employee fails to satisfy this requirement, they shall be required to re-pay the District the amount of such compensation. Exemption information can be found in the PESPA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: Attend and complete Pennridge School District CDL training and pass the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requirements to become a school bus driver.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Satisfaction of all State and Federal requirements to drive students and school buses.
- Working knowledge of the geographical area served by the Pennridge School District Transportation Department and an ability to effectively and safely operate all school district vehicles and equipment including but not limited to wheelchair lifts, special needs equipment and safety equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills so as to be able to relate effectively with students of all ages, their parents, school administrators, teachers and other co-workers.
- Basic understanding of technology. Ability to use district provided email, navigate online trainings as required, and access employee payroll management system.
- Any additional or alternative qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board of School Directors.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUISITE SKILLS:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Excellent driving record (ie: no history of DUI/DWI, no moving violations within the last 5 years, etc.).

- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form(s) (Act 168)
