Job Description:
Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Scheduling 50%

Meet patient needs through a variety of methods including but not limited to
a. Answer incoming phone calls and make outbound phone calls
b. Gathering information to route appropriately. - Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.
- Using multiple computer systems to enter data and process information.
- Maintains or initiates faxes.
- Maintain desk and/or clinic supplies.
- Sort and distribute mail.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of practice.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Coordinate Lab and Prep instructions for scheduled appointments.
- Cancel and reschedule appointments.
- Manage electronic worklists.
- Collect patient photographs, document signatures and insurance card scans.
- Update and verify primary care and referring providers.
- Evaluate referrals and link to appropriate upcoming appointments.
- Verify and update patient demographics.
Patient Care 20%
- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Hear and direct complaints to Management from customers or the public.
- Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
Medical Records 20%
- File and maintain records.
- Transmit information or documents to costumers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
- Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Forward Attorney Medical Records Requests to Executive Assistant/Compliance.
Billing 10%
- Serve as resource person and provide information to patient scheduling staff and patients regarding insurance.
- Verify visit account and insurance information and transfer to billing if updates are needed.
- Collect copays, pre-payments, and outstanding balances.
- Manage visit prior authorization and referral requirements:
Education/Experience
- High School education
- 1-2 years relevant experience in public contact
- Minimum one-year Medical Reception experience (desired)
