Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Master's Degree in history or related discipline Required
- Doctorate in history or related discipline. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years relevant secondary or college teaching experience. Required
- Continued professional development. Preferred
- Successful experience in curriculum and course development. Preferred
- Coursework in or experience using technology in instruction Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated ability to teach creatively and effectively. Required
- Developed organizational skills. Required
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, administration, and the public. Required
- Ability to work with a diverse student population. Required

Responsibilities
- Instruct and evaluate students in world History courses, American History courses, History of Technology and other areas of the Social Sciences defined by the department.
- Maintain accurate written records of student performance.
- Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.
- Write and update course syllabi.
- Develop curriculum and deliver instruction in a face-to-face setting.
- Participate in School assessment process.
- Maintain office hours according to contractual guidelines.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend department and School meetings as requested.

The part-time rate for 2024/25 will be the greater of $1160 per credit or $773 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $48.31 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.College Statement
