Overview
Following standard procedures, this person will be responsible for all inventory management functions and all phases of College Store shipping and receiving as well as providing daily direction to others in performing of shipping, receiving and stocking duties. This position may require overtime and/or a flexible schedule during peak periods, which may include evening, and/or weekend hours, to accommodate the needs of the College Store. This role has responsibility for keys that provide access to the College Store and secured areas within the College Store.
Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid and in State Valid Driver's License. Required
EXPERIENCE
- Computer and software application experience. Required
- Previous shipping/receiving or retailing experience. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Strong organizational skills. Required
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Required
- Functional ability with microcomputer or aptitude to learn. Required
- Must have training and/or certification in forklift operation or become trained/certified prior to performing forklift responsibilities. Required
- Ability to operate cash register or willingness/ability to learn. Preferred
- Ability to operate a power assist pallet jack. Required
- Ability to understand and operate technology including Word, Excel, College store accounting and POS technology and shipping and receiving programs (USPS, FEDEX, etc.). Required
- Ability to operate motor vehicles including van, pickup and box truck. Required
Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Verify correct prices from receipts and update prices in College Store Management Systems and on sales floor.
- Assure that merchandise for resale in The College Store is accurate (selling price, Class Codes, Bar-Codes, and Scans at POS).
- Ensure College Store merchandise shelved in proper location onto sales floor.
- Add new product to College Store Management Systems.
- Create returns documentation in College Store systems for merchandise return shipments.
- Pull merchandise from shelves, removing labels when necessary
- Pull, pack and ship, using the most cost-effective method, returns of College Store merchandise.
- Ensure large (freight) shipments are being shipped by most cost-effective carrier.
- Contact vendors and shipping companies if there is a shortage or items are received in damaged condition.
- Ensure that returned Rental Textbooks are cleaned and accounted for in store inventory.
- Evaluate inventory and ship to wholesaler overstock rental textbooks by established end-of-semester deadlines.
- Assist with textbook buy back.
- Assist with textbooks bought back from students.
- Process Amazon sales orders and ensure shipments are shipped according to established guidelines.
- Assist with annual College Store inventory and the mid semester textbook inventories.
- Work with Supply and Program Tool Specialist in coordinating the assembling of program tool kits.
- Process online orders and ship out according to established guidelines.
- Provide leadership and direction to casual part-time college store clerks and temporary employees who may be assigned to shipping and receiving during critical busy times.
- Assist College Store staff with College Store Systems inventory problems and questions.
- Provide training to part time and temporary employees in the duties of Shipping/Receiving.
- Order office supplies for store use.
- Maintain stockroom in a clean, safe and orderly fashion.
- Maintain an ongoing inventory of supplies and inform supervisor of low stock.
- Work closely with other appropriate College Store staff ensuring a consistent flow of communication and group problem solving.
- Receives and assembles all Snap-On tool kits at the Reach Road location.
- Assembly of all student kits and kit maintenance ensuring that in-store inventory is transferred into kit inventory.
- Coordinates with College Shipping & Receiving to secure the use of a delivery truck to deliver all Snap-On kits to student lab areas and completes the delivery prior to semester start-up and throughout the semester as needed. Locations include on campus instructional locations as well as Earth Science Center and Lumley Aviation Center
- Maintains a detailed record of all outgoing and incoming student uniform orders and occasionally will deliver and pick-up when needed at off campus vendor.
- Utilizes room CC105 space during the summer months for storage and assembly of instructional kits and supplies, ensures security including temporary lock changeout for that space.
- Receives and sorts all multi-pallet used textbook deliveries from MBS ensuring all received textbooks do not have any water damage or writing and makes recommendations to the Textbook Specialist for all damaged returns.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide service and information to customers, answer phones as necessary.
- Create purchase orders for incoming shipments as needed.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features
- Ability to lift up to 85 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to lift up to 195 lbs. with assistance.
