Overview
The Summer Camps and Conference Assistant will work with Residence Life and the Office of Facilities and Events during the summer months. This person will assist with the general operations of Residence Life and Penn College Summer Camps as well as provide guest services support for New Student Orientation and other summer events. The incumbent must be willing to work a flexible schedule that will include evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of the program and program participants. The Assistant will be required to live in College housing throughout the summer while the program is in session. The Assistant will be required to temporarily move to and reside in various housing complexes to be present in the particular complex in which groups are residing. This position will receive housing and board during the employment period.
Schedule: Summer Conference Assistants generally work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Fridays from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, in alignment with the College's summer hours. There may be weeks when night and weekend shifts are required, with schedules provided in advance based on the camps and conferences happening on campus.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED High School graduate. Required
- Currently enrolled in a college. Preferred
- Must be in good academic standing. Required
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in student leadership/student activities/residence life. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction. Required
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
- Ability to work on own initiative. Required
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers, students, faculty, staff, and the public. Required
- Ability to work with campers and guests with diverse backgrounds and needs. Required

Physical Standards and Special Job Features
- Must be physically able to move about the complex, which includes climbing stairs.
- Some lifting not to exceed 50 lbs will be required.
