Description

Pennsylvania Counseling Services (PCS) is currently seeking a Full Time Drug and Alcohol Recovery Specialist to join our team in our outpatient day program.

Collaboration of systems and services is an important factor for increasing positive outcomes for individuals who are in treatment for addiction.

In this position you will:

  • This is a drug and alcohol program but tailored to individuals with a Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) diagnosis
  • You will pick clients up each morning and attend day long activities and sessions in our clinic
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, therapeutic staff, and ancillary supports in order to facilitate client integration in the treatment and recovery process
  • The goal of this position is to provide “lived experience” from someone in recovery in order to improve motivation and engagement through all phases of recovery - outreach prior to treatment, support during treatment, and follow-up after completion of treatment
  • This is a team program so you are never working alone
  • Participants can use our recreation center when they are not in therapy sessions as a way to bond with other members suffering from the same or relatable situations
  • There are contingency prizes for participants when they hit their goals
  • The team and clients celebrate birthdays together and really provide a social atmosphere when this could be lacking outside of the program

This position involves transporting clients in a company provided van.
