Metal Fabricator/ Mechanic

Penndrill Manufacturing, Winchester Virginia Division has an immediate opening for a highly qualified metal fabricator/ equipment mechanic.

In this role, you will:

Build high-quality grout mixers, pumps, and cement silos. Responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components and/or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products. May also perform offsite service and repairs.

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints
• Fabricate and Construct equipment per blueprints
• Measure and mark out material for cutting and bending
• Set up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, saws and shears
• Weld, Mig and Tig
• Grind and finish completed products
• Perform quality checks on completed products
• Complete job reports
• Conform with state and company safety regulations
• Operate company vehicles, including heavy-load transport vehicle to travel locally, regionally, or nationallybased on business needs
• Assemble and test equipment
• Perform service and maintenance on rental equipment
• Paint Equipment and Parts
• Chip Grout and Clean Post rental equipment
• Pressure wash and prep equipment for rent or sale
• Assist with shop maintenance needs
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand trucks
• Perform cycle counts for inventory control
  
  

Other duties may include:

• Training customers on equipment
• Assisting with trade shows and company events
• Working with engineering to better products
• Assist sales in explaining products
• Shipping and Receiving duties,
  
  

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

• High school diploma orGEDrequired.
• Have strong work ethics and is career driven
• Experience in metal fabricating, required
• AWS certification and or advanced welding experience, desired
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures, preferred
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, required
• Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, saws and drill presses, required
• Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
• Own basic tools
• Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task, required
• Must possess good communication skills
• Ability to understand basic manufacturing systems and troubleshooting tasks, required
• Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid state driver’s license, required
• Must be DOT eligible, required
• Ability to operate a computer
  
  

Environment:

• This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety ofconditions including exposure to heat and cold both inside and outside of the building, and around loud noises
• Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time
• Climb ladders and work in overhead areas
• Raise or lower objects up to 75lbs from one level to another
• Carry objects up to 50 lbs. of requires employee to bend forward by bending at waist or by bending the legs and spine
• This position requires the use of proper PPE
• This position may require travel at times
