Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients using diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized physical therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs, incorporating exercises and therapeutic modalities.
- Supervise and guide patients through various exercises, including active, active-assisted, and passive techniques, ensuring effective muscle re-education and functional training.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate therapy activities and achieve patient care goals.
- Participate in training sessions for medical and nursing staff on physical therapy techniques and best practices.
- Maintain compliance with safe patient handling practices during transfers and positioning procedures.
- Provide supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Rehabilitation Aides, in line with PA practice regulations.
- Proficiency in patient evaluation and individualized program planning.
- Strong supervisory skills in directing patient exercises and therapeutic procedures.
- Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
- Less than one year of relevant professional experience is necessary.
- Must hold current licensure as a Physical Therapist and Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
- A valid driver’s license in the current state of residence is mandatory, with a driving record meeting WellSpan Risk Management standards.
