Job Title: Therapist (Adult Behavioral Health SUD)
Summary:
The Adult Behavioral Health SUD Therapist provides therapeutic services to clients (adolescents and adults) with primary substance abuse and/or mental health diagnoses. Responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, maintaining case records, completing authorizations, and delivering treatment services based on medical necessity.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a caseload of clients with substance abuse and/or mental health diagnoses.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Provide appropriate treatment services and maintain timely case records.
- Complete authorizations with funding sources as required.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
- State of Michigan licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP).
- Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire.
- Obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
- Possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire.
- One year of experience (including fieldwork/internship) treating individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to interpret instructions and work effectively with a diverse population.
Additional Information:

- Evening hours will be required and determined based on program needs.
- Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 7 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
