GENERAL DEFINITION
An employee in this classification has duties of a moderately varied nature researching best pricing solutions and state contracts, data entry and communication with a variety of vendors.
Assignments are performed under the supervision of the Purchasing Director in accordance with established CORE policies and procedures.
This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for purchasing a variety of supplies and services.
- Contacts vendors to obtain quotes for best pricing and creates purchase orders through our Legislative Financial System.
- Communicate and follow up with vendors to obtain product or service information.
- Reviews order confirmations and invoices for accuracy and verifies any changes to pricing, quantities, delivery dates, or errant charges.
- Scanning and filing, answering phones and emails. Operates a variety of office equipment.
- Works with House Storeroom, Facilities Management and Print Shops on product orders and to verify inventories.
- Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years of clerical experience, purchasing and retail experience preferred and education equal to completion of the twelfth school grade or any equivalent combination of acceptable education, experience and training.
