This position provides administrative and clerical support for the School Counseling Department under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of School Counseling.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility while working cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers, and students.
- Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, and the public.
- Take calls and direct to School Counseling office personnel.
- Assist in planning department sponsored events i.e. Unity Day, National School Counseling Week.
- Perform all general and varied clerical duties for counselors and 504 Coordinator, including data entry.
- Prepare purchase orders and assist with budget planning and oversight.
- Help track missing and incomplete grades.
- Process education and graduation verification requests.
- Maintain School Counseling Website updates, including college, scholarship and career information.
- Perform other duties as assigned necessary to support the essential functions of the department.
- High School Diploma, required, Associate’s Degree, preferred
- Some office/clerical experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures
- Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.
- Good team player and very reliable in working without close supervision
- Proficient Technology Skills: Microsoft Office, Email, Google Drive, Web-based Data Programs
- Experience with Canvas and educational technology resources, a plus
- Physical: Normal vision, speech, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, grasping, keyboarding, and filing ability
- Mental: Positive Attitude, analyzing, problem solving, decision making, and writing.
- Environmental: Online, office, blended school environment
- Travel - as required for positional and/or organizational needs, but minimal for this position
- Hybrid Work Eligibility - Yes - as determined by departmental parameters
