Summary
The Middle School Math Interventionist will work specifically with Middle School students (grades 6-8) who require strategic and intensive support in mathematics. The Middle School Math Interventionist will develop a student-centered menu of group and individual strategies to close the achievement gap and strengthen student proficiency. The overarching goal of the Middle School Math Interventionist is to ensure that all middle school students master grade level standards and benchmarks, as well as making adequate yearly progress.
Essential Duties:

Collaborate with Middle School staff to analyze student assessment data (standardized and local assessments) to identify students who are struggling or underperforming in the area of mathematics.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce and remediate core standards and benchmarks.

Deliver specific, differentiated interventions designed to improve student achievement outcomes.

Prepare differentiated lesson plans based on student grouping/tiering or gaps in achievement.

Use technology and one-on-one interaction to reinforce and reteach key mathematics concepts.

Analyze Math data for performance trends and to identify areas of instruction in need of strengthening.

Participate in professional development for all staff.

Participate in annual statewide testing 1-2 times per year (may require overnight travel).
