ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Produce machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Includes strong conventional skills.
- Background must include experience in running CNC equipment, lathes, mills, drills, grinders, vertical mills, programming capabilities
- Operate CNC Machinery within productivity guidelines
- Responsible for the setup of CNC machinery to produce precision parts
- Troubleshoot CNC machine processes
- Responsible for performing routine operational checks and repair work on functional parts of mechanical equipment and machinery
- Handle, install, and use raw materials and related fluids
- Inspect parts for quality and conformance with specifications
- Develop a working knowledge of various tool holders, boring bars for CNC machining.
- Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly
- Determine how much material to remove.
- Monitor and control feed rate and speed.
- Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and / or cooled.
- Concert path, speed, and feed information into set of instructions for machine tool.
- Modify programs in response to problems. Use calipers, micrometers, depth and height gauges
