SUMMARY
Assists in the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Under general direction from management, work from policies and general objectives with little functional guidance. Responsible for Naval contract review, RFQ through RFQ acceptance.
- Responsible for assisting the proposal process by providing testing procedures and requirements based on customer requirements or requests.
- Ensure that standards and documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Closely coordinate with Naval inspectors (EB, NNS, etc.) to identify required inspection and secure all required documents, drawings, and process step authorizations.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standard and drawings are in place. Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming material, Quality Notifications and Corrective Action Requests.
- Assist in activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality specifications. Assist in developing, writing, instituting, and executing testing procedures.
- Review processes for compliance to ASTM, Military, ASME etc. specifications. Identify problems, initiate, recommend, or provide solutions and finally verify implementation of solution.
- Continuously monitor operations to ensure compliance to internal and customer-imposed specifications. Process and maintain documentation.
- Assist in the performance of Quality System and Process Audits including reporting, follow-up, and closure of non- conformance.
- Comply with all cyber and physical security requirements set forth by the company to protect confidential information (NNPI, NOFORN, CUI, etc.)
- Assist in resolution of quality related problems and the development and tracking of quality objectives. Prepare and submit reports, documents and records required by company policy.
- Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools, and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which this position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
- Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping, confidentiality of information, and quality of work with support and working knowledge of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001. Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company. Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Requires knowledge and understanding of metallurgical and quality assurance programs, testing processes and procedures, computer hardware and software. Requires written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to multi-task and interface with personnel and customers at various levels of the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -
Two-to-Four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS -
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Metallurgy, Chemistry and/or Quality Assurance Certification recommended by not required.
