SUMMARY
A Wheelabrator Operator performs a wide variety of duties to operate oil centrifuge, chip crusher, forklift trucks and tumbler machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work from written and verbal instructions, shipping documents and prescribed procedures to reclaim metal chips, load and unload trucks and prepare forgings for manufacturing.
- Load chips into crusher, watch operations and jams, and separate various scrap metals into containers for weighing.
- Load forgings into tumbler with proper shop, set speed and timing, inspect for cracks, scales, and proper finish.
- Remove forgings to staging areas.
- Clean screens, add shot and remove clogs and debris as needed.
- Fill oil cleaning tank and operate separator with proper heat to fill recycled oil into tanks.
- Write shipping and receiving tickets, scale weights and forging sample reports.
- Maintain inside and outside storage areas.
- Use forklift to move, lift, carry supplies, materials, and tote boxes.
- Operate forklift vehicles, tumbler, oil separator, weigh scales, chip crusher, and use manual material handling equipment and hand or power tools
- Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
- Responsible to prepare and submit/record production records, accurate piece counts, reports and forms required by company procedures.
- Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping, and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
- Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools, and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
- Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company. Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over three months but less than 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have Forklift Operator experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
