About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Services Associate to join our team. As a key member of our patient-facing staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring seamless patient experiences, and supporting our clinical teams in providing high-quality care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage patient arrivals and departures, ensuring timely processing and efficient communication.
- Handle patient calls and inquiries with empathy and professionalism, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate patient appointments, scheduling, and updates, using established protocols and EMR systems.
- Collect copays, obtain necessary signatures/forms, and update appointment status in EMR, maintaining accurate records.
- Stay up-to-date with insurance requirements, managed care plans, and billing procedures, applying this knowledge to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Validate patient demographic/insurance information, register new patients into EMR, and accurately record receipts for end-of-day reconciliation.
- Prioritize work queues, resolve issues, and proactively recover missing charges, ensuring financial and operational targets are met.
Requirements:
- Equivalent experience: 2 years in medical office settings or 2 years in customer service roles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and processes.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and practice management software.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
