Reports to: Director of Student Affairs
Employment Information: Full time, 12-month non-bargaining unit position
Position Scope:
The Supervisor of Related Services is responsible for leadership and direction of the day-to-day services provided by our school psychologists, audiologists, school nursing, occupational therapists, physical therapists, staff interpreters, speech/language therapists, as well as outside contracted services as mandated in student IEPs.
Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience in one of the areas of related services or supervisory experience
- Intermediate to Advanced ASL required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in academic or school environment preferred
- Have a working knowledge of Special Education Law.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with external school districts and supervisors for the purpose of maintaining positive LEA relationships and providing quality services to students.
- Ability to supervise and provide meaningful feedback and guidance to IEP Service providers
- Demonstrates skills in organization, planning, and problem solving
- Understands best practices in Family Engagement and demonstrates skills in developing supportive relationships with parents and families.
- Maintains current knowledge of all applicable licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards, and assures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for facilitating a collaborative and supportive relationship between programs and departments.
- Communicate and collaborate with other staff, supervisors and departments to coordinate activities of programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information.
- Encourage and support the development and implementation of innovative strategies to meet identified needs of students. Involve program staff in evaluating and selecting materials to meet identified student needs and program goals.
- Serves as a positive representative of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
- Participates in regular team and departmental meetings, school and instructional meetings as required.
- Implements and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.
- Develops personal growth opportunities, coaches, counsels, evaluates and disciplines employees.
- Approves payroll records, manages staff callouts, time off and schedules, responsible for staffing and scheduling to provide adequate coverage for all related services.
- Organizes in-house or external professional development for the entire department and each of the specialized areas.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
- Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work and billing, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures.
- Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information to the Director of Student Affairs, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Display a positive attitude, empowerment of others, conflict resolution skills, show concern for people, common sense and good listening ability.
Physical Demands:

- Lifting and moving of lighter objects such as books, chairs, student desks
