We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Accounting and Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our financial management processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting, a strong understanding of financial compliance, and proficiency in QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Assist in the allocation of payables, ensuring accurate coding and compliance with funding guidelines.
- Invoicing Review:
- Review state and federal invoicing for accuracy and compliance with grant requirements and organizational policies.
- Financial Filing:
- Organize and maintain financial documents, ensuring timely and accurate filing for audits and reporting.
- Data Entry:
- Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- QuickBooks Management:
- Utilize QuickBooks for financial tracking, reporting, and bookkeeping tasks.
- Assist in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports as needed.
- Compliance Support:
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and foundation funding requirements, including reporting and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience in nonprofit accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work Schedule: This is a part-time position, approximately 18-24 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available.
Compensation: $21-$24 per hour based on years/level of experience.
