What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operator position at Pennsylvania?
Job Summary
Operate crushing plant and material handling equipment at our Lippert aggregate location efficiently and safely. This is a union position.
Main Responsibilities
Promote safe work practices and an excellent safety culture
Responsible for safe and efficient operation of all assigned equipment
Complete daily inspection and maintenance checklist
Participate in pre-shift safety huddles
Responsible to follow all onsite MSHA and environmental requirements
Perform routing maintenance and any necessary equipment repairs as needed
Responsible for timely reporting of incidents and accidents to supervisor
Responsible to inform Plant Superintendent or Managers of any potential safety hazards
Skills
Ability to operate equipment efficiently
Able to communicate supervisors and peers
Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
Independent worker as well as being a strong team member
Adaptable to changing conditions
Able to perform some heavy lifting
Welding and fabricating experience preferred
Experience working at heights
Physical Requirements
Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Employee will stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
Able to use of arms, hands, fingers and legs for extended periods of time
Will be required to lift and handle objects
Comfortable working at heights
