ABOUT THE POSITION
The Assistant Branch Manager will assist the Warehouse Branch manager in warehouse operations (including shipping and receiving) in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible with insuring customers have an excellent experience by ensuring orders are shipped in a prompt, accurate way working to always reduced errors and increase efficiencies. The Assistant Branch Manager will assume the Warehouse Branch Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.
Candidates must be available to work a schedule from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Essential Responsibilities
- Issues written and oral instructions as directed. Assigns duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Expedites workflow
- Assists in maintaining an effective inventory control system and cycle counts.
- Ensures that warehouse procedures and warehouse personnel comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations and follow manufacturer recommendations on material receiving, storage, and shipping.
- Maintains proper housekeeping and safety standards. In coordination with the Branch Manager, ensures all certification requirements are met and up to date.
- Oversees warehouse associates. Mentors and coaches.
- Develops, recommends, and implements methods to improve productivity.
- Performs other duties as requested by Warehouse Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Director of Operations, or President of the Company.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma
- At least three years’ experience in a distribution warehouse lead role overseeing others.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy, preferably in human or animal health.
- Customer service driven and focused.
- Strong analytical skills. Strong attention to detail, well organized
- Able to organize one’s own activities and manage multiple priorities. Must meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to lead and motivate. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Computer literate. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
- Operate a computer and other office machinery for extended periods of time
- Move about inside the Warehouse to access inventory, file cabinets, machinery, etc.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to observe details at close range
- May occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- While performing the duties of this job, the Associate must be able to tolerate changes in temperature and/or humidity and exposure to dust/fumes/gases
