What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Women's Softball Coach position at pennwest?
The Head Women’s Softball Coach is responsible for all phases of the women’s softball program. The coach is also responsible for the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic success of student-athletes, scheduling athletic contests, attending meetings with alumni and other public relation events, organizing camps and clinics in support of California Women’s Softball, fundraising, adherence to NCAA rules and regulations and general administrative duties. Responsible for managing the budget of the program including creating a budget, making travel arrangements, and reconciling all receipts after return within the timeframes outlined by the university. Advise student-athletes of the university’s athletic policies and all other appropriate requirements of the PSAC and NCAA in which the university is a member. Evaluate all assistant coaches. Responsible for the submission of both the head coach and assistant coach’s monthly work schedules. Responsible for submitting all NCAA required documentation including weekly CARA logs. The Head Coach will be evaluated based on the competitiveness of the program, overall student-athlete development by way of a meaningful educational experience for student-athletes, and for establishing a sport culture in which he/she is viewed by the student athletes as a mentor, educator, and role model. In addition, the Head Coach will be responsible for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of the University and its Intercollegiate Athletic Program as well as adherence to Department, University, Conference, and NCAA policies and procedures. Additional duties as assigned.Event Administration Assistance*Assist in event administration of home athletic contests and high school athletic contests as needed by the athletic administration. This may include but are not limited to team bench setup, field preparation, greeting visiting team and officials, direct student work force and act as game day administrator for events.
